VCO is looking for therapists to join our network!
If you are an intern looking to complete direct client hours required for graduation and you have a placement or a supervisor, we can help put you in touch with potential clients.
Are you a recent graduate needing to fulfill the direct client hours for registration with your regulating college? We want to help you reach out to clients that are in need of your services.
Maybe you are looking to give back to the community or are building your new business and have availability for sliding scale clients.

How can VCO help you reach out to potential clients?
Through extensive marketing and established connections, VCO will connect you with people in under serviced or remote areas, those that can not afford the costs of counselling, do not have coverage, or cannot wait to speak with a qualified counsellor.
There are three categories of counsellors that may join VCO
Intern/student
- You must be a student of a recognized program in counselling, social work, or related field.
- Proof of an external placement and supervision. Your supervisor must provide a signed letter.
- Proof of liability insurance
RPQ or another qualifying professional
- Identifying documentation
- Proof of membership in good standing
- Proof of liability insurance
Registered psychotherapist, social worker, or related field
- Space available for sliding scale clients
- Proof of liability insurance
- Member in good standing with a regulatory body

Your membership fees will go towards:
- Website development, SEO, and ongoing maintenance and security monitoring, etc. You will receive a notification when a client emails you to inquire about your services or book an appointment.
- Extensive marketing to reach out to our target populations.
- Targeting the Ottawa area to help build your practice locally but also areas, in Ontario, that are more remote and have difficulty accessing counselling services or are not able to afford it.
- Mass emails and mailouts to schools, medical clinics, and other agencies that can extend your services to their clients.
- By reaching out to these areas and populations you increase your chances of completing the hours required to complete your education or registration requirements. At the same time, you can be creating a client base as you build your new practice. You can also connect with others new to the field.
